The Mosaic Souls. Survivors of the Spectral Rift, the Proteans emerged into a broken world. They are "Hollow Spirits" who must borrow mass from the world to exist.
The Law of the Binding Matrix: Their biology is defined by Hyper-Integration. They secrete a specialized calcium-matrix that allows them to graft foreign matter (stone, metal, glass) directly into their flesh. This is not just armor; it is Anchoring.
The Rite of the Graft: They graft Ancient Objects (Relics) into their bodies. These objects act as artificial Anchors, providing them with a borrowed stability but creating external influence or bias with each piece. A Protean's personality is a collage of the things they have integrated.

Humanoid forms that appear like living Kintsugi. Their flesh is interrupted by seamless grafts of obsidian, scrap iron, or ancient masonry. The transition between flesh and matter is marked by a ridge of pearlescent scar-tissue (The Matrix). They often lack distinct facial features, wearing masks or grafting face-plates to define themselves.
